My week #38

You might have already seen my theme for this week if you read my last Planner Friday post but here it is completed.  I was inspired by a cute set of Flamingo mini note cards, they reminded me of the game of croquet Alice in Wonderland where the players use flamingos instead of mallets.

My week #38

I think I do an Alice theme at least once or twice a year but it is because I can never resist any Wonderland themed stationery I come across!

I used the flamingo note card to give me a little extra space for reminders/notes.  I used a couple of stamps to give me the headings Brain Dump and Miscellaneous and punched holes so I could add the card onto my rings.  During the week I scribbled down a few things I had to remember and do and having them listed on a separate card makes them easier to spot and grabs my attention straight away when I open my planner.

Luck and Judgement greeting cards

A few months ago I came across a lovely greeting card company called Luck & Judgement.  They are based in Devon, UK, and have a wonderfully eclectic range of cards for all occasions!  I was instantly drawn towards their sense of fun and humour so I wanted to share their products with you.

Luck and Judgement cards

The first set of cards I have to show you is the Oink Baa Moo collection.  These bright and cheerful cards are based on the views from Clare and Dan's office window (they are the beautiful brains behind the brand).  The dog, hen and sheep are illustrations of Clare and Dan's own animals and the pig, horse and cow cards picture animals from surrounding farms.

Oink Baa Moo

Clare told me that the illustrations start off as collage – all of the details, both big and small, are cut from paper and stuck together, leaving her desk a menacing collection of glue and scalpels.... yikes! Details are added using acrylics or chalks then the artwork is scanned and any tiny final details are added in photoshop.

The cards are printed on thick and luxurious card and come with matching envelopes.  The inside is left blank for you to add your own message making them very versatile!

Perfect cards for children and adults

The other set I have to show you is the Famous Five collection.  These are typographical cards with brilliantly British phrases and saying.  I absolutely love them, they are so fun and colourful!  The idea behind them is that they are clean and simple while still being aesthetically pleasing and they help you say exactly what you want to without all the hearts, flowers, sparkles and glitter.  Clare describes the collection as being understated with a tongue-in-cheek retro-ness, sherbet colours and made from lovely quality materials.

Famous Five

I loved Enid Blyton books as a child, especially the Famous Five stories so finding cards that say "gee whizz!" and "golly gosh!" really brought a smile to my face.  I have a feeling that any of my friends would have the same reaction if I sent them one in the post and isn't that the whole point of a greeting card, to spread a little joy?

Brilliantly British cards designed and printed in Devon

Like the Oink Baa Moo set these cards are also blank so you can choose to use them how you like.  They are made from thick white card and come with classy cream envelopes.  All the cards I have featured in this post are £2.50 each which I think is a bargain!  They are available online and from selected stockists.

Do you have a favourite card from this post?  I think the sheep one is super cute and I really like the whoopsadaisy! and thanks awfully! cards too.

My week #37

Hello!  Technical difficulties have made me fall so far behind with my posts, I am trying really hard to catch back up with them now.

My week 37 pages covered the week my eldest daughter went back to school so I only used washi tape to brighten things up and no other decoration.  I needed to leave myself plenty of space for reminders as things get hectic once school starts!

My week #37

I tried my hand at making banana bread, it took three attempts before I got something edible but once I'd figured out the timings and temperatures I was quite happy with it.  I am going to try and make some different variations of it now, maybe adding walnuts or chocolate chips before moving on to different recipes.  This time next year I might be a domestic goddess!

My week #36

Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of posts recently, I ended up taking a little unplanned break from blogging.  I am back now and I'm hoping to post more regularly now my youngest daughter has just started school and I have a lot more spare time on my hands.

Anyway here are my week 36 pages.  I wanted to do something inspired by September and the beginning of autumn so I used these coffee stickers and stamps, autumn always makes me think of hot drinks and woolly jumpers!

My week #36

This week was the last one of the summer holidays so I had some extra room for decoration, I knew that my pages would be getting a lot fuller the following week so I just had fun with these ones.

Planning ahead - 2016 inserts from Just So Stationery and a discount code for you

As it's September it is time to start thinking about which diary inserts you are going to use next year.  Kirsty from Just So Stationery has sent me a set of her Whimsical pink week on two page inserts to show you today.

Whimsical pink 2016 inserts

The month and date of each day are highlighted in pretty watercolour style pink accents which look lovely.  The inserts are available in A5 and personal size, lined or unlined, horizontal or vertical and if pink is not your colour then you can choose a gorgeous shade of mint instead.

Just So Stationery

The paper is smooth and thick, a lot thicker than the standard Filofax inserts.  I would say it is slightly thicker than the Webster's Pages inserts too.  I have done a pen test today and it is really nice to write on with my fountain pen, there is no bleeding and it does not show through to the other side (I used turquoise ink).  I also stamped on the paper using tuxedo black ink and that has not shown through either.  I wanted to take a photo to show you my test but it has been raining all day and it is so grey and dark I can't get a decent picture.  I wish I had done it at the weekend when I took the rest of these shots!

Monday start and a section for notes

As you can see the week starts on a Monday which is how I prefer it and there is a section for any notes you might want to make at the bottom of the right hand page.  The day and note sections are all the same size as the boxes on my Filofax and Webster's Pages inserts so I wont need to adjust how I set out my to do lists and reminders and all of my stamps will still fit.

Close up of the pages

At the moment Just So Stationery only deliver within the UK but if you live further a field you can register your interest here and if international delivery becomes an option you will get an email to let you know.

Just So Stationery printed on the bottom of each page

If you are looking for some organisation inserts then Just So Stationery has wide range of those too, from to do list and notes to health and fitness tracking and meal planning.  If you want them all or can't decide which you need you can order sample sets and see which work best for you.

Have you have spotted something you fancy? You can have 10% off your order if you use this discount code:
