My week #34

Hi!  I went with a simple floral theme this week, I got the washi tape in my Linky Box last month and loved the yellow and peach combination.  The quote I used was "End of summer winds make people restless".  I know it isn't Autumn until nearer the end of September but as the school holidays are nearly over it does feel like the end of summer now.

My week in my Filofax #34

I announced the winners of my giveaway yesterday, no one has claimed their prizes yet so if you entered check here to see if it is you.  If the prizes aren't claimed by Sunday 31st August I will draw new winners.

As you can see from the feelings stamps I used the start of my week wasn't great.  I don't really want to go into too much detail, mainly because it's boring instead of private but there was some trouble on the street where I live and property was being damaged.  I think the police got to the bottom of it as it stopped on Thursday and, fingers crossed, everything has been ok since then.  I just think if I am going to use journalling stamps I should record the bad as well as the good otherwise what is the point.

Thanks for stopping by!

Giveaway winners!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway to celebrate me reaching 300 followers on Bloglovin and of course to Mrs Brimbles for donating some super cute prizes!  I have numbered the entries and used random.org to pick the winners.... drumroll please...

Em Braden you are my A5 winner!

Tamara Theisen you are my personal size winner!

Please email me your addresses to sheseclecticblog@gmail.com to claim your prizes or use the contact form on the left hand side of the screen.

Thanks again to everyone else who entered.  I have already started to put together some prizes for when I reach 400 followers (you know me, I like to be prepared!) so I will give you all an extra entry into that draw to make up for you not wining this time.  I have the list of your names in my filo so that will keep it safe until I hit 400!

If the winners have not contacted me by next Sunday (31st August) I will draw new winners and announce them here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Linky's smashing stationery box - September '14

Another parcel of perfection from Linkys has arrived!  I think these stationery boxes are the highlight of my month.  I love seeing what has been picked out for me, I think it is fantastic that each box is personalised for the recipient.  It makes it feel really special!

If you want to see what I got in the previous boxes you can read about them here.  On to this month's box.... it is another pic heavy post!

I got pretty butterfly wrapping paper this month.

Under the wrapping paper is a layer of
bubble wrap to protect your order.

Each box is decorated differently.

I love the little touches like this
crystal ribbon which seals
the box shut.

Ok are you ready to see what was inside?

The first thing I spotted was the cute little penguin, he is a double pencil sharpener which is very handy.  I also zoomed in on the My Little Pony rubber but my eldest daughter has swiped that for herself!  I am looking forward to receiving my next box when she is back at school and I wont have to share anything unless I want to.

These are the bits and pieces that
were loose in the box.  I love
the paperclips, the pen and of course
the popping candy!

I also got these project life cards and a
sweet owl planner charm.

I found this nestled in the box, my initial
in a heart popped in there
especially for me.

Some fun cards and
notepapers.

I love these dividers, the pastel shades are so
pretty and I like the patterns too. They
almost look Cath Kidston-ish.

An envelope full of more goodies!

Inside the envelope there was a rose stamp, some die cut flowers,
stickers and note cards and papers.

My wrapped items!  Lets see what was inside them...

How lovely is this notebook?  I love the polka dot
envelopes as well!

The last of my wrapped goodies were these fab heart stickers,
elephant sticky notes and skinny washi tape.

The Linky Boxes for September and October are now sold out but Leah has added some more for sale for Novemeber and a special Christmas box for December too so if you want to get your hands on one you need to order asap.  There wont be a box in January because of Christmas and new year but there is a Valentines themed box for February, that is also on the website now if you want to take a look.

Thanks for reading!

Mr Philofaxy saved the day!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's  Mr Philofaxy and he has saved the day! You might remember that I asked for help removing a pen mark from my Original Filofax the other week, if not you can read the post here.  I called on Mr Philofaxy A.K.A Steve Morton and he came to my rescue!

This is the offending mark I found.  Right on
the front cover!

Steve suggested using a cotton bud dipped in alcohol to try first and to test it on a hidden part of the leather just in case it damaged it.  I have had a vodka miniature sat on the shelf for years and years so I decided to break the seal and use a little of that.

I rubbed the vodka moistened cotton bud on the inside of the back cover and then left it for a little while to check nothing happened to the leather or finish.  It looked ok so I started to rub the pen mark gently and could see it getting lighter.  I did have to rub it a bit harder to get all of the ink off but this took off a little of the finish too.  I guess I hadn't rubbed the test area hard enough so if you are ever in the same situation I recommend really giving it some welly when you do your pre removal tests so you get a proper idea of how it will affect your Filofax.

The pen mark is gone! You can barely see
where it was.

I much prefer a slightly lighter patch of leather on the front than the black pen mark and you can only really notice it in certain lights so overall I would say it was a success.  Lots of lovely people on Facebook suggested products I could try to restore the finish but to be honest I would rather leave it as it is than risk making it worse.

I have angled my filo for this photo so you
can see where it has taken the
shine off the leather.

I did contact Filofax themselves first to ask if they had any ideas on removing the ink.  They got back to me quickly but said they couldn't recommend anything because of the Original's finish so I would like to say a great big thank you to Steve for his help and to everyone who commented on my post on Facebook and here on my blog.....

Thank you!!

My week #33

I love this week, it is one of my favourites so far!  I think it is the pink and mint combination and the hearts and clouds, lots of my favourite things all together making me happy.

My week in my Filofax #33

It is still the summer holidays here and I was running out of things to do to keep the children occupied so I decided to put our tent up in the garden.  Apparently if there is a tent in the garden all meals must be eaten within it including breakfast so I have been toting plates and bowls back and forth most of the week.  I'm looking forward to taking it down but so far it is still a novelty and I don't have the heart to.  Maybe next week?

My week #32

I'm late, I'm late, I should have written this post yesterday but the day got away from me!  If you read my latest Planner Friday post you will have already seen my owl theme but here it is all completed.

My week in my Filofax #32

It was a bit of an odd week for me, my two eldest children were away at their grandparents house and then my husband went away for the weekend so it was just me and my youngest daughter for part of it.  The house was so quiet, it felt strange but now everyone is back home it's back to it's usually noisy self!

I did manage to post my giveaway on Saturday so if you haven't entered yet you can do so here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Celebratory giveaway!

I said last week that I was going to run a little giveaway to celebrate reaching 300 followers on Bloglovin' so here it is.  Mrs Brimbles has given me some of her lovely dashboards as prizes and I've added some bits and pieces to them too.

There are two prizes, one has a personal size elephant dashboard and the other has an A5 size dashboard so please let me know which size you want to win.

How to enter:
  • Leave me a comment below saying which size dashboard you would like to win.
  • Let me know if you follow me by email, Bloglovin' or Google Friend Connect and you will get an extra entry into the draw.

I will number all the personal size entries and use a random number generator to pick a winner and then do the same for the A5 size entries.  This giveaway is international and open to everyone.

You have until 12pm here in the UK on the 23rd August to enter, any entries after this time wont be included in the draws.

Planner Friday - August

My design team post is now up over on Twine it up with Trendy Twine!....

It is August already, how did that happen?  Next month I will be starting my Christmas planning, now that is a scary thought!  So before I start to hyperventilate lets get on with Planner Friday.

My week so far

I went with a fun owl theme this week, I like how bright and colourful it is.  I was inspired by some cute owl note cards but I will tell you more about them in a minute.  I find cheerful pages make me more likely to look in my planner and keep on top of what I need to do, if I had boring pages I would probably only open up my Filofax once a day and then I'd end up forgetting things.

My week #31

I went with a bit of a different look this week.  It's not very me, I think I might have been watching too much America's Next Top Model recently and I let my inner diva out to play!

My week in my Filofax #31

My eldest two children have gone to stay with their grandparents for a week, I am sure they are being spoiled even as I type this.  It will be weird not having them around but I am hoping to get lots of things done with just my little shadow following me.  Starting a free Netflix trial may have been a mistake though, I am hooked on catching up with White Collar and can't seem to tear myself away from the TV.  Maybe if I indulge in it today I can be really productive tomorrow?

I spent most of last week waiting to see if I would hit 300 followers on Bloglovin', I was so excited when it happened!  I am going to run a little giveaway to celebrate and say thank you so keep an eye out for that post later in the week.  I hope you will like the prizes I have lined up.

Thanks for stopping by!
