My week #21

I was feeling a little whimsical this week so broke out my much loved toadstool washi tape and stickers.  I don't know why I am drawn to them, I mean they are just fungi after all but they make me think of fairies and deep dark woods so they seem mystical and fun to me.

My week in my Filofax #21

On paper it doesn't look like I was very busy but it felt that way, it was like I blinked and the week rushed by!  It was my husband's birthday on Friday and he had the day off from work so we got to celebrate together with a Chinese meal followed by a slice of minion Dave birthday cake.... I know, I know, we are very rock and roll!

My week #20

If you read my Planner Friday post the other week you will have already seen my over the top, super pink and girly theme for this week.  If not here it is!

My week in my Filofax #20

I wanted an extremely pink and kawaii theme for my pages and I think I managed it.  Some times I just want to smile each time I open my Filofax and as long as I still have enough space to write notes and reminders I think it's ok to go a little crazy.

My week #19

Ever since I received my Brimbles Box last month I have wanted to use the cute weather stickers that came in it.  Then I won a set of raindrop shaped paperclips from Hopscotch during National Stationery Week so I just had to use them together along with my How's the Weather? stamps for this week's pages.

My week in my Filofax #19

Creating a wet and stormy theme must have affected the weather here because it was actually lovely and sunny most of the week!

Planner Friday - May

It's time for another Planner Friday over on Twine it up with Trendy Twine and my latest design team post is now up.

Hello!  I am Amanda from She's Eclectic and today is Planner Friday!  Every month I show you how I use products from Annie's Paper Boutique to help me stay organised but to also have some fun whilst doing it.

Planning my week

This week I was feeling very pink and girly and I wanted to smile every time I opened my planner so I just went over the top with this Hello Kitty theme.

My favourite thing about using a planner is it means I don't have to remember everything, once it is down on paper all I have to do is check to see what is going on and what I have to do.

You can read the rest of my post here.

Thanks for stopping by!

My week #18

I know I am really late sharing my week 18 pages but after all the posts I wrote for National Stationery Week I decided to have a little break before writing this one.

My week in my Filofax #18

So everything in my planner pretty much revolved around #NatStatWeek, I used one of the Check It Off planner stamps to highlight the theme for each day and wrote myself separate to do lists under those headings for my blog related tasks.  I kept my usual to dos and reminders on the left hand side of each day so it was easy for me to see what I had going on while I was so busy.

Even though it was a hectic week I still had time to join in with the fun online.  I met some really nice people and discovered some new brands and companies I hadn't heard of before.  My stationery wish list has also quadrupled in size and I seem to have developed a new notebook obsession!

Write a letter day - Inkly Cards review and Nu Notebook giveaway! *now closed*

It is write a letter day and I couldn't think of a better time to tell you about a new app called Inkly Cards.  Now I know one of the main aims of National Stationery Week is to get people to pick up a pen so you might think it is a bit strange that I am talking about an app but let me explain why.

Inkly Cards is an app that lets you create and personalise cards and postcards for all occasions.  Unlike other companies this app lets you write the message you want by hand and then electronically recreates and prints it so when the recipient opens their card inside they will see your handwriting instead of the usual Ariel or Helvetica fonts.  I think that is pretty great!

The app is available on iOS and Android and is free to download and very easy to use.

Simply select the card you want and personalise it.

Next decide if you are going to write the message by hand
or type it.

If you are writing the card by hand these instructions
are easy to follow.

This is the message I wrote for inside my card.

The preview of my card, then I filled out the address details
of where I wanted the card sent to.

A day later my card arrived!

If you order your card before 12pm it should arrive the next working day within the UK and prices start from 99p for a postcard plus 62p postage and go up to £2.99 for a card plus 62p postage.  You even get a choice of which colour envelope you would like your card sent in.  I went with a pretty pink one to match my card.

I am really happy with the quality of this card and the printing but it is the way the app takes your handwriting from your photo and adds it to the card that impresses me the most.  I will definitely be using this app again next time I want to create my own card!

If you would like to find out more about Inkly Cards you can find them on Facebook and Twitter or check out their website here.

Diary day - Leuchtturm1917 notebook overview and giveaway! *now closed*

It is Diary day!  I am using two at the moment, the one in my Filofax which is for my appointments, reminders and to do lists and the other is this mini Dodo Pad (in it's own leather slipcover) which I use for recording my husband's work hours.  I keep his hours in a separate diary because they can change quite often and he has to wear a different uniform depending on where he is each day, all that info would take up too much room on my Filofax pages.  The other reason is because he can check the dodo pad when he needs to and not have to riffle through my bright pink planner!

Diary Day - my Filofax and Dodo Pad

So on to today's giveaway which is for this gorgeous berry colour medium size notebook from Leuchtturm1917 .  I really love this, I have added it to my ever growing wish list (a list that has tripled in size since National Stationery Week began!).  I would add a bright lime green Leuchtturm pen loop to mine, as you can see above pink and green is one of my favourite colour combinations!

Berry Leuchtturm1917 notebook

If you haven't seen inside one of these before let me tell you the highlights

  • The pages are numbered.
  • There is an expandable pocket in the back, very handy for your bits and pieces.
  • It has a table of contents so if you use it for revision notes or as a journal you could record which info or month was on which pages for easy access.
  • It has a coordinating page marker and elastic band fastener.
  • Ink-proof paper, perfect for us fountain pen fans!
  • Stickers for labelling and archiving.

I haven't written in this notebook as I want it to be brand new for the person who wins it but I have looked at the quality of the paper and it is very nice.  The pages are thick, smooth and a shade of cream that looks so much more luxurious than white!  The notebooks are available with lined, squared, dotted and plain pages, this one is plain so you can use it for whatever you like.  It comes with a lined and squared backing sheet which is a nice touch.  I always end up writing on a slant when I write on unlined paper so if you are like me this will keep your pages nice and neat.  The notebooks come in a wide range of colours, I love the yellow and all the shades of blue too!

Gorgeous selection of colours

Get organised day - The Dodo Monthly Muddle Manager review and giveaway! *now closed*

Today is Get Organised Day and the fab people at Dodo Pad have given me one of their new Monthly Muddle Manager pads to review and an extra one for me to give away to you!

Get organised day

First of all I have to say "Monthly Muddle Manager" rolls off of the tongue nicely, as I have said before I love a bit of alliteration!  "What is the Monthly Muddle Manager?" I hear you ask.  Well it is a large, A3 size pad for your desk that has an undated calendar printed on each page. You choose which month you want to start with and fill in the date boxes (Can you call triangles boxes? I mean, I am, but I'm not sure it's the right word?) and write the month in the top right corner.

Each day has three sections for AM, PM and Evening so you can easily see what you have scheduled and which part of the day it is on.  There are some Dodo Pad style illustrations around the outside edges to make it more interesting and some blank spaces to add your own doodles, random thoughts or phone numbers too.

A month at a glance

The Monthly Muddle Manager (sorry, I just like saying it!) is made from thick card so it is durable and hard wearing and has 30 calendar pages per pad so it will last you two and a half years!  "Oh yeah but bottom of the page will get all crumpled and the corners will curl up and look a mess!" I imagine some of you are thinking but no, no they wont because the people who make it are very, very clever!  They thought that could happen too so they came up with a smart idea, they glued the pages together at the bottom of the pad instead of the top so no matter how much you use it and write on it you wont "worry" or rumple the sheets.

Glued on the bottom - what a great idea!

I really like being able to see my whole month at once without having to open my Filofax and flip through to the right section.  If I am on the phone and need to check a date or make a note of something it is right next to me and I can jot it down or scribble in the margin if it's a long call and I'm getting bored.  The size also means I wont knock it off my desk or miss place it like I have done before with smaller pads!

If you would like to win your own Monthly Muddle Manager all you have to do is comment below telling me what year the first Dodo Pad diary was made, you can find the answer here.  I will number all the comments and then use random.org to pick a winner.

The rules:
  • Leave a comment telling me what year the first Dodo Pad diary was made - one entry per person please.
  • The giveaway ends at 12pm UK time on the 10th May 2015 - entries after this time will not be added to the draw.
  • The winner must contact me within 7 days to claim their prize or I will have to draw a new winner.
  • This giveaway is open internationally.

One for me and one for you
